I am not the Face of Subsidy

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala tells BBC  some people who do not want her to work for President Jonathan’s administration that are tagging her “Face of Subsidy Removal.”

  • We foresaw people will be upset about it, it is the history of Nigeria
  • This is not bigger than the magnitude of what happened during Obasanjo Administration
  • There are very specific programs being put in place to invest the fuel subsidy money in
  • Do Nigerians really want to continue subsidizing corruption?
  • We cannot say because government did not act in the past, we should remain in the past and allow this money to be hijacked.
  • I am not the face of subsidy
